What makes this place special?

funk you in Friedrichshain is my favorite café in Berlin. This cute little place offers a wonderful variety of delicious, creative smoothies, snacks and sweets, many of them vegan and/or gluten-free, so anyone can find the perfect treat. The menu is painted on the walls in a colorful mexican style, and some seats are just as unusual - how about sitting on an armchair and eating from a drum? And the hearty owners make it impossible not to feel like home.

A very special thing is the huge variety of fresh made smoothies, from green smoothies with vegetables and salads to fruity shakes and superfood drinks (with spirulina, maca, pollen, hemp seed and many more). But you can also find freshly squeezed raw juices, hot chocolate with 100% cocoa and spices (sweet and healthy with loads of antioxidants, can it get any better?), coffee specialties or Kusmi tea. Dairy can be replaced with soy or rice milk.

Anyone hungry? No problem, there are daily soups, rice dishes or yummy wraps and sandwiches. Another great thing are the so called Magic Breakfasts like muesli with superfoods or fresh maize bread with avocado and salad. Then top it off with one of the vegan cakes or cookies, some of them even raw. Just perfect!

The green smoothie Bruce Wayne with apples, salad, mango and pineapple is absolutely awesome! It’s inspired by a scene from Batman Begins, when Bruce Wayne gets a green smoothie from his butler Alfred as a kick start breakfast after a night of hunting criminals. The raw juice Lemon Twist with apples, celery, ginger and lime is great for boosting the immune system and has this wonderful spicy ginger flavour. For a lovely sweet and creamy shake, check out the Easy Tiger with apples, strawberries and ananas. But hey, the biggest fun is to try them all!

Great meals are the Vegan Wrap with zucchini, avocado, tomatoes, salad, sesame and coriander or the tasty maize bread. Muesli lovers will surely enjoy the combination of full grain flakes, superfood, fresh fruit and nuts. The soups like aubergine coconut curry, served with crispy pesto bread, fill you up and warm you from the inside. And as a sweet treat, try some vegan raspberry cheesecake and a hot chocolate with warming and exotic spices.
